Apple Is Set To Launch New Airpods

by Techie Crunch

Apple is set to launch the update of their Airpods this year with hands free “hey, Siri” voice command feature, and a water resistant model in the upcoming year 2019. They are reportedly working on several upgrades to their wireless AirPods with a new version of the popular headphones set for release. The new AirPods are said to come with an upgraded wireless chip that will let the users activate the Airpod using the “Hey, Siri” voice command without having to physically tap the headphones, just like the way HomePod and iPhone users invoke the virtual assistant. Currently AirPods requires the users to double-tap the sides of the earbuds to activate Siri.

The idea behind the upgradation of AirPods said to be coming in 2019 to make the Airpods water resistant to “survive splashes of water and rain”, although they likely won’t be designed to be submerged in water, according to Bloomberg’s sources. The Apple AirPods were first introduced in 2016 alongside the iPhone 7 headphone jack, they were introduced as a wireless solution for users wanting to listen to audio through a headset. Since the launch of the AirPods they have been considered one of the Apple’s top-performing products, apparently reflected in Apple’s severely constrained supplies throughout 2017.

The AirPods have proven to be one of the Apple’s most successful products since its launch nearly two years ago. Part of it is due to new iPhone owners wanting wireless earbuds, but it’s also due to the AirPods ease of use and relatively affordable price. Thanks to the Apple made W1 chip, AirPods connect very easily to iPads, iPhones and Macs. Apple made it fairly easy to switch between audio sources when using AirPods. While they are not the cheapest wireless buds, but the $159 AirPods are still affordable in the growing world of truly wireless audio wearables.
